VISION

To endeavour to get business and like minded associations to work for the benefit of employers, employees and the community throughout the region.

PURPOSE

To actively pursue opportunities to promote the Southern Highlands as the place for the establishment of businesses that will provide jobs for the younger generation, at the same time maintaining and improving education and existing business skills needed by employers and employees.

OBJECTIVES

  • To represent the business interests of members including individual, body and organisations by presenting a unified voice on major issues and objectives to the three levels of Government, the community and other Industry Associations
  • To work in a co-operative and coherent manner for the benefit of all members by providing a forum for members to express ideas and opinions
  • To access reliable information on issues relevant to local business throughout the Southern Highlands and Tablelands
  • To access a wide range of services for the benefit of members, in particular utilising our affiliation arrangements with Illawarra Business Chamber and Australian Business Limited, which is now known as NSW Chamber, to mutual advantage
  • To comment on issues relevant to local business and members
  • To help grow businesses and improve their profitability
  • To participate in the Economic Development of the region by working with the Council Economic/Tourism Development Working Group
  • To provide the opportunity for large businesses to have special affiliation membership
  • To review and lobby for the following essential business needs:
    Transport - bus, train and road
    Skills - Practical and learned
    Education - Tafe Courses - University Courses
    Employee reliability - training
    Apprenticeships - ATC

and other related business matters from time to time.
